Christ Teaching

I had a lot of Payne's Gray that need using, so I put in the darkest darks, though they aren't too clear in this picture.

Added different color for clothes. I like it with color!

Christ and the Fishes

I thought the water should be more colorful.

Ditto!

I bought this tube of Gamblin Radiant Blue oil paint and had to try it everywhere. I added it to the shoulder and a few fishes.

Added some skin and darks.

Lengthened Christ's arm and darkened around the fishes.

Christ Healing Hand

I glazed the background with Alizarin Crimson and a cool brown blend, then added white to that for the skin. I think the hand is way too large for it's owner!

Worked on this last week, so can't remember much about how I did this update.

This pic is dark! I glazed all over with different colors.

Lightened the faces and hat.

Christ Calming the Sea

I felt the water was too unreal, so added colors and dimension. In the end, it is supposed to look like a storm. The paint brands I've been  using are Classico, Gamblin and some Winton.

Christ in the Temple

I added a blend of orange and purple to his robe and stuck that in a few other places. Dabbed light cerulean blue some places too to imply the details.

I wanted to pull Christ out from the background, so I glazed the background with purple/blue. It still looks the same. I also added to brown detail to Christ, and a few yellow highlights to offset the puple/blue glazed background. I will probably have to reglaze when I get all the background detail entered, but I couldn't resist trying it now. How can I lift Christ out of the background? Value? Color?

This photo is lousy. I added lots of dark, which you can see on the left side. There is a lot of little detail to add to this picture! I really kind of clean off my palette on this picture because there are little bits of every color in it.

Covenant (3D)

It was a disaster! The two triangles dried crooked, so I tried to force them straight and it cracked!!! One of my friends thought it was still inspiring and beautiful, so I gave it to her without taking a picture of the final version. Maybe I'll try to make it again - this time with my husband's expert help.
